Discovering Well-Being For Youth Classes
Based on The Rabbit King
The Rabbit King and related materials, including spiral-bound copies of the book, can be used in classroom settings and other learning environments for education, life-planning, and Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) skills. The inspirational and positive-themed story of The Rabbit King can be considered a self-improvement book and self-help book. Discovering Well-Being (DWB) For Youth offers classes based on the story and evidenced-based theories that can empower youths to improve their well-being, learn and apply essential life skills, and plan for a rewarding and successful future.
The DWB For Youth classes based on The Rabbit King are designed for students and other learners 11-15 years old, but they can also be appropriate for older learners. The World Health Organization (WHO) define youth as individuals 15-24 years old while referring to those 10-24 as young people, which include adolescents. There is a growing need and interest for personalized instruction and guidance to help youths develop and maintain their mental health and well-being by planning their future, living a healthier lifestyle, learning critical thinking skills, and being more in line with their values.
The classes provide youths with the opportunity to learn, develop, and apply the skills necessary to live a healthy, productive, responsible, and rewarding lifestyle based on The 8 Phases of Change, the story of The Rabbit King, The 8 Dimensions of Well-Being, and Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) skills. Integrating the concepts and theory of Discovering Well-Being and the story of The Rabbit King within the framework of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) also gives youths an opportunity to learn more about themselves, understand others better, and discover the well-being they may be searching for but find difficult to achieve.
